there is a transcript of the beatles dialogue of the show although no footage exists. i read it recently - you can find it via google - i think they were courteous and as always funny but realistic. the orchids best track, i think, is oo chang a lang which thunderbird1958 has as the blue orchids. my favourite british girl group track is the mckinleys somone cares for me which is fab. thanks for your comment

The story is that the Beatles bad-mouthed the Orchids’ record on Juke Box Jury, unaware they were sitting in the audience. It’s a good song in the Crystals’ girl-group vein, but that style was starting to go out in favor of the groups by late 1963. I personally would have voted it a hit, albeit a minor one.
